HS BASKETBALL: Pikeville, P’burg, Belfry post wins

PIKEVILLE – Pikeville took the lead in the final quarter and went on to be Lawrence County, 47-38, in a game played at T.W. Oliver Memorial Gymnasium Jan. 21.

Kirsten Cole-Williamson paced the Lady Panthers, now 13-6, with 11 points and 14 rebounds to finish with a double-double. Jaden Edmonds and Kelsey Jo Tackett finished with nine apiece. Leslie Stewart added eight.

The Lady Bulldogs (12-7) were led by Alexis Ratliff’s 11 points. Kensley Feltner chipped in eight.

PRESTONSBURG – Prestonsburg took command against Perry Central and cruised to a 63-42 win in a game played at Prestonsburg Fieldhouse Jan. 21.

Senior Kaitlyn Keathley led the way with a game-high 25 points as the Lady Blackcats moved to 14-7. Caroline Ariaz finished with 14 and Alison Campbell chipped in eight.

McKenzie Maynard finished with 15 points and 16 rebounds for a double-double as Belfry moved to 9-11. Ariel Mounts and Kyera Thornsbury had 13 each.
