Four members of the Pike County Central Hawks basketball team were honored for reaching career milestones.
Bailey Birchfield eclipsed 500 career steals and 500 assists while Hailey Boyd, Alexis Newsome and Cassidy Mullins all passed 500 steals.

HINDMAN – Pike Central went on the road and used a big third quarter to pull away and beat Knott County Central, 68-50, in a game played Jan. 19
Cassidy Mullins stripped the nets for a game-high 32 points while Kelsi Brinager followed with 16 and Bailey Birchfield added 10 as Central improved to 14-6. Lexi Newsome tallied nine.

PRESTONSBURG – Prestonsburg’s Caroline Ariaz poured in a game-high 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to help lead the Lady Blackcats to an 89-58 win over Betsy Layne in a game played at Prestonsburg Fieldhouse on Jan. 19.
Reesce Endicott added 24 points while Kaitlyn Keathley just missed out on a triple-double, finishing with 18 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists. Celina Mullins added eight points as Prestonsburg improved to 13-7.
