HS BASKETBALL: Floyd Central’s woes continue

CORBIN – Floyd Central managed only 27 shots as North Hardin cruised past the Jaguars, 77-36, in the final round of the Cumberland Falls Invitational Tournament played at Corbin High School Dec. 29.

Skyler Hall tossed in 11 points and Randon Little followed with nine as the Jaguars lost their ninth straight game and fell to 2-13.

CORBIN – Floyd Central battled Mercer County throughout much of the game before falling, 67-58, in the second round of the Cumberland Falls Invitational Tournament played Dec. 28.

Ethan Smith-Mills tossed in 18 points and Randon Little followed with 15 as Central dropped to 2-12. Tanner Hall added seven.

CORBIN – Floyd Central Ethan Smith-Mills had a huge game with 23 points and 16 rebounds, but the Jaguars came up short against Union County (S.C.), 67-62, in the opening round of the Cumberland Falls Invitational Tournament played Dec. 27.

Skyler Hall and Grant Blackburn chipped in six apiece.

Pop’s Chevy Classic

LANGLEY – First Love Christian Academy (Penn.) dominated from the opening tip and steamrolled past Floyd Central, 81-29, in the final game of the Pop’s Chevy Classic played Dec. 22.

Ethan Smith-Mills tossed in 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss. Randon Little tallied six.

LANGLEY – Floyd Central fell behind by double-digit in the opening half and Christian County went on to score a 69-50 win in the second round of the Pop’s Chevy Classic played Dec. 21.

Ethan Smith-Mills finished with 22 points and Randon Little followed with 20.

LANGLEY – Floyd Central came up short against Nelson County, falling 57-52 in the opening round of the Pop’s Chevy Classic played Dec. 20.

Ethan Smith-Mills paced the Jaguars with 25 points and Randon Little added 10 and 11 rebounds. Grant Blackburn chipped in nine.

Piarist School drops pair at Buckhorn tournament

BUCKHORN – Piarist School fell behind early on to Lee County and the Knights dropped a 78-55 decision in the final round of the Buckhorn Lake Christmas Classic played Dec. 29.

Kyle Price poured in a game-high 31 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in the loss. Seth Hall followed with 20 points and 11 boards.

Piarist School………….…56

BUCKHORN – Piarist School’s  Seth Hall fired in 28 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Knights fell to Cumberland Homeland Athletic Team, 69-56, in the opening round of the Buckhorn Lake Christmas Classic played Dec. 27.

Kyle Price followed with 12 points and 12 rebounds in the loss. Steven Misczenscki chipped in eight.
