GOODY – Belfry used a big second quarter to pull away from Garrard County and the Pirates went on for a 41-0 win in the opening round of the Class 3A playoffs at CAM Stadium this past Friday night.
Running back Isaac Dixon had 90 yards on just three carries and two rushing touchdowns. He also returned the second-half kickoff for a touchdown as the Pirates improved to 9-2. Running back Brett Coleman added 84 yards on the round and one score.
Quarterback Avery Browning, running backs Brett Coleman and Ben Bentley added rushing touchdowns.
Belfry will host Lexington Catholic (8-3) Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
