Phelps drops regular-season finale at Frankfort

FRANKFORT – Phelps held its own against Frankfort throughout the first half before the Panthers pull away in the final quarter for a 36-12 win in a game played this past Friday night in the shadows of the state capitol.

Quarterback Garrett Clevenger ran for a short touchdown and passed 11 yards to Dominick Francis for another score as the Hornets fell to 5-4.

DaJuan Davis had a pair of rushing scores for Frankfort, now 7-3 and winners of five straight.

Phelps will face Lynn Camp (9-1) on the road in the opening round of the Class 1A playoffs Friday night. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
