Women’s soccer falls to No. 13 Lindsey Wilson

PIKEVILLELindsey Wilson took an early lead and didn’t look back on Tuesday, eventually defeating UPIKE, 8-0.

The No. 13 Blue Raiders (5-2-2, 2-0-1 MSC) performed as such, putting 17 shots on goal. Their first shot became their first goal on a header from Kajsa Conradsen on a corner in the second minute.

Corners were Lindsey Wilson’s main form of attack on the afternoon, forcing 23 in the match. Three of those corners became goals for the Blue Raiders, with Emelie Liljered scoring twice off corners as well as Conradsen’s.

Lindsey Wilson scored four times in the first half with Conradsen and Liljered’s first goal in addition to scores by Sina Cavelti and Sanna Svensson.

The Blue Raiders kept the pressure on UPIKE (2-10-0, 0-2-0 MSC) in the second half with 11 shots which resulted in four more goals.

UPIKE will get over a week off before facing Campbellsville at home on Oct. 17 at 2 p.m.
