Wildcats rally late to beat Skyhawks

MADISON – Logan’s Shawntez Matthews raced 82 yards for the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth period as the Wildcats rallied to beat Scott, 30-27, at Skyhawk Field this past Friday night.

Matthews added a 57-yard touchdown run in the third period to help fuel the comeback  as the Wildcats improved to 3-4.

Quarterback Chucky Felder ran for two scores, including a 90-yard kickoff return, and Corey Townsend hauled in a scoring pass from Michael Hall on a trick play.

Caleb Hughes had three rushing touchdowns for the Skyhawks, now 1-5.

Logan is idle this week before playing at Chapmanville Regional (4-2) on Oct. 19.
