PRESTONSBURG – Shelby Valley running backs Seth Johnson and Dalton Meade ran for three touchdowns each as the Wildcats dismantled Prestonsburg, 49-0, at Josh Francis Memorial Field Thursday night.
Johnson rushed for over 100 yards and reached 1,000 yards for the season in only five games played. The Wildcats moved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in district play.
Johnson scored on TD runs of 60, 7 and 4 yards, all in the first period. Meade scored on a four-yard pass from Sam Stanley and had TD runs of 9 and 14 yards.
Freshman Ethan Bentley capped the scoring with an 11-yard run in the final minute.
The Wildcats will journey to Hyden next Friday night to face Leslie County in a key district matchup. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
Prestonsburg, now 0-7, will travel to Lick Creek next Friday for a battle with East Ridge. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
