The Johnson Central Golden Eagles remained the top-ranked team in the EKB Sports Super 7 football rankings released Monday.
Johnson Central, now 4-1, beat Boyd County this past Friday night, 48-7.
The Golden Eagles are followed for the sixth straight week by Belfry. The Pirates (4-1) handily beat Sheldon Clark, 48-8, on the road.
Pikeville (3-2) and Shelby Valley (4-1) are tied for the third spot. The Panthers lost at undefeated West Virginia Class AA power Point Pleasant, 41-34, while the Wildcats cruised past Betsy Layne, 50-0.
Paintsville, now 4-2, is fifth this week. The Tigers defeated Lawrence County at Memorial Field, 21-6.
Rounding out the Super 7 are Mingo Central (3-2) at number six and Floyd Central (4-2) at number seven. The Miners lost at unbeaten Poca, 45-27; and the Jagaurs were knocked off by Pike County Central, 49-32.
