Tigers weather storm, knock off Generals

WINFIELD – Chapmanville Regional went on the road and came away with a hard-fought 21-12 win over Winfield this past Friday night.

The Tigers, now 1-2, fell behind 6-0, but rallied in the second period following lengthy weather delay as Nick Collier scored on a 65-yard run and quarterback Chase Berry tossed a 12-yard touchdown pass to Brennan Williams to put the Tigers ahead for good by a 14-6 halftime score.

Berry’s second touchdown pass of the game, a 31-yard toss to Waylon Hensley pushed the Tigers up 21-12 heading into the final quarter.
