SUPER SEVEN: Golden Eagles remain No. 1; Belfry second

Johnson Central remains EKB Sports’ Super Seven top team for the third consecutive week after the Golden Eagles defeated Henry Clay this past Friday night.

Belfry, on the strength of its home win over Bryan Station, moved ahead of idle Pikeville into second place. The Panthers are third.

Floyd Central climbed into the number four position after the Jaguars rallied in the final minute to beat Breathitt County on the road.

Mingo Central rounds out the top five. The Miners scored in the closing seconds to beat Wayne on the road.

Paintsville tumbled to No. 6 after the Tigers fell at Class 6A Frederick Douglass. Shelby Valley rounds out the top seven.
