What is your coach philosophy? “My philosophy would be: Faith, family and then basketball. We want to produce successful women on both the court and in life. The only way to do that is to instill morals and values in the young women we coach. One of my favorite Bible verses is: Philippians 4:14 “I can do all things through Crist who strengthens me.” If anyone puts God first, success will follow.”
Favorite food? “Either pizza or BBQ ribs.”
Country or rock? “I listen to country music. Growing up, I wasn’t allowed to listen to rock music, all my mom and dad would listen to was country or southern gospel.”
Favorite group? “Alabama. It just so happens that was also my dad’s favorite group.”
Hero? “My true hero would have to be Jesus Christ, because He gave His life for humanity. But, my earthly hero would have to be my dad. He has taught me lessons that I don’t even think he realizes he taught me. He was the hardest working man I’ve ever known. He once told me, ‘Son, don’t be like your daddy, get yourself an education and make something of yourself.’ Those words have constantly been an echo in my ears. They have continually pushed me through life. My dad has had a huge influence on my life, and I’m thankful that God chose to bless me with my wonderful mom and dad.”
