Paintsville punched its ticket to the state tournament with a dominating performance to capture the 9-10-year-old District 7 Little League championship.
The team now advances to the state tournament in Lebanon on July 21-25.
District 7 is made up of teams from Pike, Floyd, Johnson, Knott and Martin counties.
Paintsville finished pool play with a perfect 4-0 record, having beaten Neon (21-0), Belfry (25-0), Morgan County (21-7) and South Central (15-0).
The talented all-stars entered championship play as the No. 1 seed. Paintsville beat South Central (12-2) in the semi-final round and clinched the championship with a win over Prestonsburg (21-3).
During the six games in eight days, Paintsville outscored their opponents, 105-12.
