Meet Pikeville High School’s Emily Ford
The eighth-grade pitcher was instrumental in the Lady Panthers run to the Sweet 16 state softball championships this past week in Owensboro.
She pitched shutout wins over Belfry and Johnson Central in the 15th Region tournament and then helped slow down a highly-touted Lawrence County team in the championship game.
Pikeville advanced to the state tournament for the seventh time in school history.
Ford finished the season with over 200 strikes and is on pace in four season to collect 1,000.
Pikeville finished the season 31-11.
