LOUISA – Lawrence County jumped out to a big lead early against Prestonsburg and steamrolled to a 75-47 victory in the opening round of the 58th District Tournament played at the Dawg House Feb. 18.
Lawrence County, now 22-9, punched its ticket to the championship game and secured a berth in the 15th Region Tournament next week. Prestonsburg’s season ends at 20-11.
Kensley Feltner led a balanced attack for the Lady Dawgs with a game-high 16 points. Brooke Neal tossed in 15 while Kaison Ward and Kyleah Ward added 13 apiece.
Carolina Ariaz and Reesce Endicott paced the Lady Blackcats with 12 each.

LOUISA – Floyd Central continued its dominance of region teams as the Lady Jaguars breezed past Betsy Layne, 65-31, in the opening round of the 58th District Tournament played at the Dawg House Feb. 18.
Katie Jo Moore, Grace Martin and Kaylee Moore tossed in 10 points each to lead Central, now 26-2. Lauren Preston and Abby Maggard added nine each.
Amelia Blackburn paced the Lady Bobcats (7-22) with 10 points.
