BOWLING GREEN – UPIKE women’s basketball is projected to move up the Mid-South Conference ladder this year according to the league’s coaches.
Pikeville was picked to finish fourth in the MSC, league officials announced Friday. The Bears earned 24 points, one more than fifth-place Georgetown.
Shawnee State and Campbellsville are expected to battle it out for the conference title after earning five and three first-place votes, respectively.
UPIKE returns two starters from last year’s squad that went 14-17 and finished fifth in the conference.
The Bears’ first games are next weekend at the UPIKE Tip-Off Classic when it faces Florida National at 4 p.m. on Friday and Washington Adventist at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
