BLACKLOG – Belfry went on the road Friday night and turned up the heat on Sheldon Clark, beating the Cardinals 48-8, at The Rock.
Quarterback Avery Browning had two carries for 59 yards and two touchdowns while throwing for a pair as the Pirates moved to 4-1 and won for the fourth straight week.
Ben Bentley added 43 yards on three rushes and two touchdowns.
Sheldon Clark’s only points came on a 39-yard pass from quarterback Brandon Arledge to Dawson Jude.
Belfry finished with 401 yards offensively, including 214 on the ground and 187 through the air.
Both teams are back in action next Friday night as the Pirates host Floyd Central (4-2) while the Cardinals (2-4) host Lawrence County (3-3)
