Dawgs start strong, thump Hornets

SALYERSVILLE – Lawrence County quarterback Noah West carried 22 times for 154 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs to a 44-14 win over Magoffin County this past Friday night.

West had runs of six, one, 49 and 24 as Lawrence County moved to 1-1. Running back Ashton Blankenship rushed 15 times for 86 yards and one touchdown and Baden Gillispie added a 57-yard scoring run.

Brady Whitaker hauled in a 25-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Lucas Litteral and Grayson Lanning broke away for a 72-yard score to account for Magoffin County’s points.

The Bulldogs will host Prestonsburg (0-1) at the Dawg House and the Hornets will host East Ridge (0-1) Friday night.
